Civil society sector points out loopholes in draft law protecting victims of domestic violence

Recently, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) has proposed a draft amendment to the Protection of Victims of Domestic Violence Act, which has been approved by the Cabinet to be forwarded to the Council of State and to the Parliament for consideration. Although the new draft law expands some protection rights for victims of domestic violence, which is something that the public agrees and supports, there are still concerns about gaps in the law and the effectiveness of its enforcement.
